but going to dallas he is on a team that is still 4th or 5th at best...bc they will def lose a few more pieces

if he stays and gets DH, could be 3rd best in weak east with miami and chicago....wash with indiana

C'mon dude...it's a team FILLED with SCRUBS...Williams and Lopez stand out, but neither one is really at the top of game. Williams was THE BEST PG in the NBA for a sec but he's lost that title and has 4 or 5 guys standing in the way of him regaining it.

Lopez is really good but he's not shown any signs of greatness.

G.Wallace is a top tier SCRUB-don't gimme that ALL-Star BS either *see Jamaal Maglore, Wally Sczerbiak, Theo Ratliff, Mehmet Okur, Josh Howard and the rest of the 1-time all-star scrubs.*

Humphries, Farmar, and Stevenson

If D. Howard is not a guarantee then he's a fool to sign with the same team that has been going home in April every year since J.Kidd left (give or take). Their will have to be an enormous amount of change in the player personnel dept. for the team to be relevant.

Well, considering only Brooks, Morrow, and Jordan Williams are under contract, they don't have a team of scrubs. They don't even have a roster right now, so you can't say it will suck, when you don't know who they will have.

He will be able to start a legacy with a new franchise in the best city in the world. He will have ample marketing opportunities, and hes already taken advantage of it. ( Red Bull, Audi, MetroPCS, Bonobos and etc.) He has a rich owner, so spending money won't be an issue. We can also offer the most money. He will play in the nicest arena in all of sports. He's said numerous times how it's going to be a ballers paradise, and how much he loves NYC.

I wouldn't exactly call Gerald Wallace a scrub either. Just because he's not a superstar, it doesn't make him a scrub.

We have tons of cap space, so there can be tons of possibilities.

How is going to Dallas going to be anything great? Dirk will be done in 2 years. Who else on that roster is good besides Dirk? Terry will be gone because he wants a new deal. So, in two years, the Mavs will be like the present Nets.

You're really going to tell me there are 4 or 5 better PGs in the league then D-Will? C'mon.

^ exactly. Dude gives it his 100% every possession. I knew he played with a reckless abandonce, but I didn't know he gave it as much as he did until he played for the Nets. They became MUCH better when he arrived, and made games a ton more competitive.

And, even if we don't get Howard or a top tier guy a HEALTHY line up of :

D-Will/Kidd
Brooks/Morrow
Wallace/Green
FA
Lopez

is formidable in the East. Will they win a championship, no, but they will be a run of the mill 4-5 seed. Also, that line up is without any real additions, but you know they are going to do SOMETHING.

Flash, how many players go places just based on winning? I can't think of many, and I don't mean ring chasers like Juan Howard and etc.

Also, D-Will hasn't lived in Dallas in the past few seasons. Why? Well, his mom came out and said the other week "As for whether Williams has a "warm and fuzzy" feel for Dallas, Mrs. Smith says don't be so sure. In his first two off-seasons, Deron and Amy had a house in a Dallas suburb, but found friends were always dropping by. "People would just show up, and they felt like they never had any privacy."

I just don't see the appeal of Dallas. How many players let where they were from decide where they were going to end up? What does Dallas have to offer besides Dirk, who is close to being done?

^well you would think players dont join for titles or winning, but i think Boston deal and Miami building the way they did the landscape of winning and titles has changed. You have a new stadium, new and rich owner and a superstar PG with a young core and tons of cap space, players would come bc they have opportunity to be on a winning team and in the easier EAST

i dont see why he'd go to dallas unless he just wants to go back home and play which i can understand. but the competitive aspect and trying to win titles; which we all know all players are measured on, its an old team with piece that are leaving. so a team that got swept will get weaker and the younger OKC, Grizz and Clips are going to improve more so and then u have to expect SA and LA to always be there

staying in NJ makes more since than moving

LOL you hate on Juwan Howard, but at his point in career what do u expect, the guy does w/e it takes to be part of a team. Last 2 years he played some critical minutes and garbage minutes along with just sitting on bench. but id never take for granted veteran leadership like players like him on title contending teams....they have been on every team that has won a title i think its good there are players like him for this and that they get their one ring they set career out to achieve
