Air Jordan VII Retro Olympic GS

Although they’re not a part of Jordan Brand’s ‘Gold Medal’ Pack of Air Jordan VIs and VIIs coming up in August, the above pictured pair of Sevens is the most direct Dream Team tribute they have on tap for this summer.  The Air Jordan VII Retro ‘Olympic’ brings back a colorway that Michael wore to victory in Barcelona in 1992, one that made its presence felt twelve years later around the Athens Games, and again just two years ago in a ‘For the Love of the Game’ variant.  That kind of frequency makes these one of the most commonly seen colorways outside of the bred AJ1s, but the memories they evoke ensure that these will sell out in July even as sneakerheads eagerly anticipate the brand new double-package one month later.  Click through to get a look at this grade school sized pair (essentially identical with one less eyelet) and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this July 21st release.  via Air-Randy

They're looking really good to me. My04 pair is still pretty damn clean, so I don't need these, but I wouldn't mind having a DS pair.

Not that I put much faith in JB, but I'd like to believe an authentic pair in adult sizes wont have the 'AIR JORDAN' on the tongue so far down. Thats the only thing in the pictures above, besides the tag/text, that screams "AIR-RANDYHK"

^^^I agree, takes away from the original mystique of this shoe when it keeps being retro'd.

Air Jordan 7 Retro Olympic New Images

This August, Team USA will set out to repeat what the magical Dream Team of 1992 did – win the Gold medal in completely dominant fashion. After 2004′s disappointing outcome (when the U.S. won the Bronze), Team USA has been a bit reticent in crowning themselves Gold medal favorites, even after the nation redeemed itself in 2008. This year’s Olympic squad is undoubtedly one of the best we’ve ever seen, and with three Jordan Brand signature athletes likely joining the roster, there’s a good chance that we’ll see the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ back on the international stage. Will you cop on July 21st? Peep this new gallery below and let us know what your predictions are for Team USA this August. Photos: airrandyhk

In all seriousness, these > Olympic VI. Classic on so many levels, its just JB has released this shoe 4 times now to the two VI releases. It is a bit much, certainly not necessary this year.

^ I completely agree.

The amount of times these have been retroed has taken away from the greatness of the shoe, but what I do when comparing colorways is I compare the original release and how the originals are looked at compared to the originals.

OG Olympic VII >>>>> Olympic VI from 2000

It's just like the Military Blue IV situation. People feel that the Military Blue III's are miles better than the IV's when that isn't even the case. The fact that the IV's had been retroed in 2006 and now 2012 takes away from the greatess from the shoe.

But if you compare OG Military IV to OG Military Blue III, they're pretty damn close.

I still think true blue IIIs > Military IVs by a MILE, but I hear exactly what you're saying.

The two horrendous military IV retro's have really brought down the value and appeal of that IV. All of the TB III retro's have been decent-good.

On the flip side, before 2006, there were freakin online petitions with thousands and thousands of sigs for the military IVs to get retro'd. They were hyped heavily and definitely anticipated.

Meanwhile, you look at the hype of the 2000 Olympic VI and their value before these were set to drop. Hype was always through the roof, but at any given time the VII is always gonna be that shoe MJ wore in the Olympics in 92 that birthed the Dream Team. So much signaficance there, and to me and many others, thats what Jordan shoes and the jumpman logo represent.

What is the Olympic VI famous for? Yeah, they're nice don't get me wrong, but they're really just a Ray Allen PE colorway. If Mike had worn them, things would be different to me, but he didn't...

Sidenote, I'm EXTREMELY surprised that as much as JB butchers retros, and the fact these are re-releasing 3 times within a span of 8 years, can't believe JB never managed to throw the '23' on the heel of this colorway. Baffling really...

Air Jordan VII Olympic Arriving At Retailers

Patriotism and sport come reached a fiery meeting point whenever the Olympic Games are organized every two years, so as the Summer fare looks to open up later this month, Jordan Brand aims to deck out its most loyal followers with some of its most iconic Olympic-inspired gear in its history. Last weekend, the Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ hit stores as one of the most anticipated Air Jordan Retro releases of the year, and just two weeks after that, the first ever ‘Olympic’ Air Jordan will return to complete the one-two punch, but will the Air Jordan VII be as popular? With 2010′s ‘For The Love Of The Game’ release still relatively fresh in our minds, next Saturday’s Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ may be an easy ‘pass’ for some, but we’re certain a number of folks missed out that time around. Social Status will definitely have these beauties in stock – will you make these yours come the 21st?
