worse to worse? how so....oh u must simply be going be the record last year.
well the team was laced with injuries across the board. we get that young talent back. Another year under Stanton and Morrison belt to be even better and yea Hanley goes to 3rd which is perfect, he will be much better there and produces numbers. so the infield is set....... OH WAIT......apparently they are still going hard at Albert.....i was like wtf for real!?!?!?! stunning if they get him still. i think he needs to stay in St.Louis Expect Buerhle or Wilson to sign here to go along JJ, this team will be good |

True, I guess I doubt the Marlins too much... They tend to splurge every decade and win a World Series... I guess this is that year... They have the new uniforms...

^they didnt splurge in 03 btw....they got pitching and they had 2 stud ass players come up in June......named Miggy Cabrera who is always in MVp talks and Dontrelle Willis, who was legit as a marlin. People forget. Oh and one of the best postseason pitchers of all time....Josh Beckett......yuh that dude who won the Sox a title

no doubt they will be in it this year. The whole new jerseys and stadium thing definitely inspires winning, it doesnt last long but it will help. Thats what happened in 04 when the Padres moved to petco and got those sand colored unis, they went on to win the NL West.

biggest reason they have money now is because they got out that horrible lease at dolphins stadium. it killed that team and being able to spend. now new stadium and the revenue from that allows them to be a middle payroll team, still wont come close to top 5 high spenders

Flash, if you're using injuries an excuse for record last year, you will be disappointed with Reyes. The guy is always hurt. When he plays, I'll admit, hes one of the most exciting players in the game....but he can never stay on the field.
This move was something the Marlins needed to do though. They needed to show that they are willing to spend some money going into their new ballpark. And, I don't think Albert is going to leave St. Louis.

^agree i dont think Albert is leaving either, but they are saying they are upping the over to him.
i think we need Buerhle or Wilson to add to this pitching staff. Reyes got hurt last year for a few weeks. injuries happen but he puts out numbers. the marlins lost their center fielder who was rookie of the year previous year and they lost Hanley essentially the whole season. Not to mention JJ getting hurt again when he was just rolling. this season will be much better. |

As a Phillies fan, I'd be lying to say the Marlins moves thus far aren't somewhat intimidating. ESPECIALLY if they sign Albert...
But as a Baseball fan, I'm seeing the 2005 Mets all over again...sorry |
